Do use anti-seize.
Do NOT use any thread locker - blue or red.
Torque around 12-15 ft/lbs should be good enough (check Haynes manual).

Old thread but still applies in 2022.
If in doubt review this guy's yt videos. He has a lot of content on Ford engines and tips/tricks. His #1 tip is use only Ford spark plugs and over torque them, yes, over torque and do not go by the OEM guide book. OEM says 15? ft/lbs, Ford Tech guy says 20-25ft/lbs so the plugs will never vibrate loose and you get a spark plug blowout scenario.

I have had plugs blow out of my 03 5.4 2 valve when they had never been removed from the factory, I have had them blow out when I torqued them to 15 foot lb, I have had them blow out when torqued to 28 ft pounds.

I really do not think it matters what you torque them to

Were any of the blowouts on the same cylinder(s)? There is a good chance of thread damage from a blowout and just reinstalling a new plug in a damaged hole isn’t the best solution. Have you done any insert repairs?

I re-torque my 5.4 2V plugs annually as part of my preventative maintenance program. If I was driving lots of miles, I would re-torque every 6 months.

I never tried to screw one back in, I either used a self threading repair insert or a time sert insert, I think I finally solved this problem for the last time on a NAPA replacement engine that was doing the same thing when I put cal-Van inserts in all 8 cylinders.
