fuel pump pressure

How much pressure do you need to feed the injection pump on a NA 6.9? Is 7-9 psi enough?

That's the pressure I was told on this site, to look for when checking out the lift pump.

I actualy have a gauge in the fuel line just before the IP, and my lift pump holds 4.5 PSI on both Dino fuel and WVO. The Ford Repair manual states 2 PSI Min. I found that 9 to 10 was to much for my IP, it seemed to effect its timming advance.
