I just purchased my first vehicle last night 1993 f-150 302 singlecab longbox
very peppy fun truck.
I wanna build it for power but keep a reasonable amount of Mileage so kinda tryin to work here it has a aftermarket exhaust what make i dunno but. the guy who put the exhaust on put new headers on put it into a single exhaust which down the line split into a dual so it went dual to a single to a dual. yeah its wonky. under the hood he has a msd coil and ignition. new wires.
so I guess my main concern is the stock intake needs to go Im gonna put a K&N FIPK intake in. next is the exhaust gonna go true duals (truck has no cats in it)
can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get a true dual kit.
You'll probably get 2 HP at the most with the K&N intake. 250 wheel HP means you'd need around 300 HP at the engine which isn't going to give good mileage. Lightnings in your bodystyle only had 240. Bolt ons aren't going to make a 200 HP 302 go up to 300 HP unless it's a super charger or something.
Well now this is weird my truck plans got changed around. the white f-150 is not the one im buying.
my dad found a black 92 f-150 with 161000km orginal owner well taken care off fully loaded single cab longbox. wow what a vehicle. came with a trailer brake switch also.
and a receiver hitch. no rust at all completly stock.
this was what i wanted originally and its the perfect platform to build off of.
so im canceling the sale with the other truck and going for this one its much cheaper to 900 dollars cheaper and the engine runs better. all in all im much happier.
