That's kinda what I was thinking right after my rejection from the dealer. There
is a 2007 4X4 CC black sport SRW about an hour away from me on the lot but of coarse it has a 6.0 in it. I only tow 5,000 lbs. I don't need a 6.0 or the noise that comes with it. When the time is right a all-black V-10 will come!
...I loathe having any kind of contact with dealers. After having bought my first new vehicle since 1981, I will be faced with this traumatizing issue.
I really enjoyed buying the Quigley/Ford van via the internet/phone/mail. It just eliminated alot of that dealer BS. Unfortunately, the selling dealer is 300 miles away, so I won't be able to have any "next sale" sway with any local servicing dealer locally.
...another reason why the American consumer goes elsewhere to buy. Many don't have the brand loyalty we share here.
Well, I might have some good news. I was able to locate something close to what I want - actually it has too many options - but the bad news is that it is 800 miles away.
I called and was told the truck was available. So, I am pondering my next move. It is more than I want to spend but sometimes you have to say "F it" and just do it.
I could have done without:
FX4 Pkg - $225 (not a big deal)
20 Inch Rims - $1,245 (this one really hurts - I like the KR wheels)
Premium Stereo - $300 (don't need 6 CD Changer)
and would have added:
Long Bed - ?? (I really wanted this option for my lawn equipment, etc. 38 Gal Fuel Tank would be nice too)
4.30 LS Axle - additional $50 over 4.10 LS (not a big deal for me as I don't tow much)
I have cut and pasted the window sticker below. The MSRP is outrageously high but since there are $3k in rebates and dealer cash and I get the X-plan, I hope to get in this truck for about $40k +/-.............

The next trick is getting it registered in NY as a new vehicle without CA emissions. I am still working on that but at least I can get the truck here and deal with that problem later.
<EDIT> Actually didn't need the moonroof either so I've now counted about $2,700 in needless options. Oh well, I guess you only live once.
