I have a 2003 6.0 Crew Cab 4x4, 52,000 miles. No modes to egine other than a Airaid air filter. I checked my mpg the last two fill ups and found I was getting just over 10 mpg. I mostly drive around town and go easy on the peddle. I can't recall the last time I checked (months to years) when I got good mpg but I think it was around 16mpg. Truck runs great, sounds good. Always serviced by Ford. Any ideas what might be wrong and could this be a possible warranty issue.
In town driving kills my mileage too. Too many stoplights and traffic, and you never get up to speed to where the engine runs most efficient. I get 11-12mpg in town most of the time, but average over 17mpg on the highway on extended trips. I tried the Airaid filter too. It seemed to make the engine run a little louder and made a funny noise when I let off the accel. pedal. Otherwise, I thought the power difference was only slightly better on the low end. I switched back to stock because it filters better (lots of discussion on FTE about this issue) and no issues with Ford warranty.
TitOne you might talk to your technician and see if you have the updated flash that removes the EBP sensor from the loop and generally fill him in on your concerns about mileage.
my new one is getting 14-14.5 on it's first two tank fulls. the second tank was a little bit better than the first. i drive mostly back roads, not a lot of highway driving but also not many stop lights and stop signs out my way either. 40-50 mph on two lane rural roads. i'll be happy when it gets broken and hopefully get 16-18 like some others are getting. im willing to do some mods to help mpg, but not more power, this thing has enough power for me right now.
My 05 17mpg on interstate (75-80mph), then BAM! 12-13 city. Far off from your 10 but still a huge difference. remember no matter how light on the pedel you are, still starting 7k+ lbs from a dead stop is going to burn some fuel.
Thanks for the information. I'm going to start averaging it out over the next month and see what I get. By the way, I bought fuel filter kit on line about a month ago to do myself. I could never find the time so I went to Jiffy Lube in La Quinta, CA. They changed them out for free because I get my oil changed there.
By the way. My user name TitOne, was changed by FTE to "TiteOne." My last name is Titone, so for my User Name I used "TitOne". The name FTE gave me sounds like Titty One. Why can't I use my last name?

LOL, that is kinda funny. I bet they would have approved it if you used TiTone or titone, or Titone, as opposed to TitOne. The later has some sexual connotations to it.
Anyway, my 2004 F250 averaged 17.86 over the last 910 gallons of diesel. That is with 90 to 95% highway driving at 67.5 mph. i think if you nurse the pedal too much you get worse fuel mileage. From a dead stop i would accelerate and try to keep my rpm at 2000 for peak torque and efficiency.
As a side note, I just got a 2006 Jetta TDI last night and she is looking like 42 mpg on combined driving between country roads and city. And that is with running her upto 3400 rpm. But it was only 2.6 gallons of fuel used, so I ain't bragging yet. Well, OK, I am.

I don't do much highway driving without a trailer with mine. However, I am getting about 10 around town as well and about 10 pulling the trailer. That's at about 75-80 MPH towing about 6K. I'd rather be getting 15 as well, but no luck so far. I'm a little over 18K on the clock.
No worries here about babying it. I definitely drive it like I stole it. It does get abused somewhat by getting run hard and then shutting off responding to fire calls.
