I was wondering if a 292 would fit in a 65 frame?

Engine Mounts

A lot of the 292's used a single engine mount in the front, that went around the front of the block, and bolted to the front of the frame. If you could build your own mount like this, or if you could create your own crossmember to bolt the front-mount to it shouldn't be too bad... just the tranny, and possible driveshaft adjustments. I'll see if I can't get a pic of the engine mount that I'm talking about tomorrow sometime.

What if I took the mounts out of the 63 frame and mounted in in?

You might have to make a custom crossmember, but it's do-able.
Have you visited the Y-block forum?

What, may I ask?, is wrong with a 292? Have you ever driven one that was taken care of?
