Thumbs down I got dumped on !

A new house went up two houses down,My neighbor next to me asked for some of the dirt to fill in a small hole in his back yard.
He asked me if it was ok to put some dirt from the basment that was dug for the new house in my yard next to his fence.
I said ok thinking it was going to be a small amount.
Heres what I came home to tonight ! I need a drink !

Looks like 3 or 4 loads of decent black dirt. Now's the time to do some landscaping around your yard. How does said neighbor plan on moving all this soil? Oh, BTW,I had a few drinks for you.

Looks like it's leaning up against your garage!!! Holy crap, I hope he understood the clean-up that was involved. I'll be back, I need to go get some beer so I can have a drink for you too, lol.

It sounds like a time to put up a "Fill Dirt For Sale" sign. $20/pickup load.

Holy schnykes! That's more than "a little" dirt. I'm wondering what the neighbor's response will be when he sees that. I'd bet money he wasn't anticipating this much to fill the "small hole" in his back yard. FWIW you can probably put that on Craigslist and get rid of it in no time. Looks like good dirt.

WOW! So that's what dirt looks like. It's been a really long time since I've seen any like that. Come down here to mid-missouri and I'll show you some stuff called clay and some stuff called rock. lol It's REALLY hard to grow grass in this stuff!! I wish I had your dirt, but NO, not enough to drive up there and pick it up. Hahahahaha

6L, what part of mid-Missouri are you in? My wife and I have friends who live part of the year in Lake Of the Ozarks area, notably Warsaw. We were just down there last week and you are correct about the clay and rock. Our friends house sits in a small rock ledge just above the lake.

You and the neighbor better get a hold of the contractor and have a skid steer brought over. My property slopes like that, too. It would be great to have the dirt - as long as i was ready with a retaining wall. The lawn looked like it was in nice shape. That's too bad.

I'm in Osage Beach. Not far away from Warsaw at all. How close are you to the Detroit area? My brother and sis-in-law were just down here visiting us. They live in South Lion, MI. Funny huh?!?

Rain is supposed to be coming tomorrow night and lasting into Wed. That is A LOT of shoveling and wheeling(4-6 cubic feet at a time)

That's pretty good. At least it's just dirt. Be glad he didn't ask for a load of manure for his garden or what-not.

Sorry, man, but I laughed when I saw the pic.

Any idea how much dirt that is? Looks like 20 cubic yards or so... Hard to tell cus you can't see the back of the pile. Regardless of how much it is... whoever has to move that really ought to rent a bobcat and be done with it in a day. It will take a LOT of work to get rid of that by hand. (That's the advice of a landscaper, too)

"Small hole" eh? I bet he had no idea what he was ordering. I redid my girlfriend's parents front yard last year... Had 22 yards of dirt dumped. Her father came home and practically gave birth to a cow. Came out just right though, no extra and not too little.

Best of luck! Get it out of there soon, before it rains too much.
