I'm looking at a nice Blue 04 crew cab lariat with 42,000miles it's roughly $24,000. Just wondering if the price falls in line with what others have paid and any other tid bits you may have.
I asked the same question, you will hear MANY people say its way too much, they will say that for that price you can buy a new 06, blah blah blah... One thing that is hard to gauge is local market prices, here in Idaho trucks sell higher than they do in Texas... I just paid $18,000 for a 2004 with 45,000 miles (not a lariat, xlt) which I thought was a steal! But I still had people saying it was too much... Have you checked to see what they are selling for on dealer lots? Try to get a baseline using autotrader and cars.com to see where this truck is priced at!
I have spent a lot of time all over the net and local lots, there are some cheaper, and some more expensive. I'd say this one is about middle ground, but it is the nicest lariat in the area.
There are 2 lariats with about 30,000 miles listed at 25,000 and 22,620… but the one I’m looking at is the only one around with the options I want. Regardless, pickings are a little slim. I'm driving an hour and half to see the blue one this afternoon.
I just bought an '04 supercrew lariat with 96,000 for $15,500. The next closest price in my area was $19,000 with 77,000 miles. I don't put a lot of miles on in a year so hopefully this will be a good truck even though the miles are a bit higher than I wanted. The scary thing is that this truck is replacing my '98 chevy extended cab with 81,000 miles.

Umm, Lariat's didn't come in blue...it is either an XLT or FX4, which makes the price even more out of whack (unless the color is wrong).
I feel it is a bit high. For that price, go check out a new one. With rebates (plus lower financing than on a used one), I bet you will only be a couple grand higher. Then you get a warranty and no miles.
Just to give an idea of what I paid, I got an '05 XLT crew cab 4x4 with the 5.4, 3.73 LS, tow package, and a few options (not loaded, but everything I needed) for less than $24,000 in December '05. This was from a sticker price of more than $35,000. I looked at some used ones too, but found a new one for only about $1000 more than the used ones.
Yeah they did come in blue, my neighbor has one. I just traded in my 2004 FX4 super cab with 32000 miles. They have it on the lot for 20,500. I think you can do a little better.
Here in Texas I looked for a Larait 4x4 for a few months untill I found the one I wanted Its an 04 had 30,000 miles on it and I paid 22,000 window sticker in 04 was 39,824. It was the best priced truck around here for what I wanted in options. Also this was before Ford started offering the rebates.
