I posted previously about the shifter indicator having broken. Park is in the R position, Reverse is in the N position and so on. I called Ford parts and they did not know what i was talking about.
Can you provide more information with regard to a description of the parts i need to fix this, or a part number. anything that i can offer the parts guy to help figure out what i need to fix this issue.

You may want to try another dealer, or a more experienced person at your local dealer. If you're lucky, maybe the service dept. would let you talk to a tech.
However, I'm not sure, but I think the indicator is controlled by a small wire that's visible under the dash. You may be able to correct this yourself.
I had a similar problem with my 99 F150, I removed the cowling around the steering wheel, to pull out the dashboard. There is a little plastic adjuster/wheel, but be careful when adjusting it as it is easy to break.
do you really need to pull the dashboard to adjust the shift indicator dial or can you get under it and locate it easy enough. This sounds like a big job for a simple adjustment.
