Well, it took most of my afternoon but dropped the tank on the X and hutched it. I only had about 4 gallons in it but with the full metal surround and the dirt and rocks stuck in it, it was HEAVY! I did not harpoon because I had enough to do and did not see the benefit of it for me. I did put an extension on the return to get it away from the intake. I did replace the suction line from the tank to the frame but it did not look like the connection on the back of the pump. I am curious as to if it is necessary to replace it? I also replaced the line and fitting at the back of the pump.
I only had one problem through it all, one of the tank shroud bolts got cross threaded and I had to put the impact on it. Oh well, hopefully I will never have to drop it again.
Overall, it was not that hard to do and I did notice a little smoother idle and a bit quieter motor. I do still seem to have a bit more noise coming from the pass side front fender at the rear of it. It is kind of a pinging knock, I guess it is the #7 going down???
Your not alone there SSGG, I've noticed the same knock about the same area on my truck too, after the mod. The rest of the engine sounds a little quieter though. Glad it went pretty good for ya.
