wix fuel filter
Are the wix fuel filter set any good? My buddy works for napa and can get them for a good price but after hearing on different forums that there oil filters aren't very good for the 6.0 it makes me a little nervious. Who makes the best fuel filter?

Racor makes the OEM fuel filters for FMC. Wix stopped putting the water seperating membrane on the filters, so they do not meet OEM specs.
My recommendation is to use the Racor or Motorcraft (made by Racor). Do a search for posts on fuel filters, and Beachbumcook has done a good write up on them.

Go to your local International service/parts department. Order:
1847170C92 - fuel filter kit
2589259C91 - replacement HFCM drain plug (this is the revised drain plug with the knurled nut)
Filters should run you about $30/set, and they're OEM Racor.

WIX filters are not OEM spec'd and lack the membrame as discussed above.
You can buy them for less at your local International dealer and get Racor (makes OEM filters for Ford).
You will get more and pay less... so no reason to buy from your friend.... even if he gives them to you... not worth the hassle of an inferior fuel filter.
