Can anyone tell me if there is an available paint that exactly matches the blue used on engines in '66? I think one of the Krylon blues is right but I don't know which. Any help out there?
I have found that the Ford Blue sold at my local Farm & Fleet is actually darker than stock. If there is an Advanced Auto parts near you, they have a brighter, more exact ford blue. They also have corect wimbleton white too...
The problem I've had in the past, guys, is that the various blues are described as "Ford blue" or "old Ford blue" or "new Ford blue" and I'm not sure what I'm getting until it comes out of the can. A Krylon I used once came close so I'll look for that.
Thanks,
Eric D
Eric as long as the whole engine is painted the same color, you don't have anything else beside of it to compare it to. I am seeing signs of the paint coming off in places on my engine already. So have extra left over.

I work for a NAPA in Alabama and I looked in our Duplicolor product giude, Duplicolor shows both the old and new Ford Blue Duplicolor and Krylon are put out by Sherwin Williams. Any Napa store should have the new guide so that you can compare the paint chips and see which one you are looking for.
