I put power on my 65. Came off of a 66. If you can find a Bendix gear box. It should be a direct fit. Was on my 65. If you go to a later model truck you will have to modify steering column. Bendix boxes are hard to come by and expensive rebuilt. Need to replace crank pulley and get all correct brackets. I purchased gear box, pump, pulley and all mounting hardware. Took about two hours to install.
Careful. He said he has a '64. The '64 and earlier trucks look like the '65 and '66, but they are an entirely different animal underneath. Ford made a major model revision without making a body design change - and that throws the normal assumptions off.
Nothing but a few body parts interchange between the model types.
Since early '65s have been known to be titled as a '64, double check the front suspension. If your truck has a single I-beam for a front suspension, it is a '64, and you cannot use the later PS setup as a bolt on solution.
