because no matter what i Tow or put in the back of my truck thsi truck of mine has hidden power I have a 98 4.2 and I towed a 3300 pound Thunderbird with 870 pounds in the box and It was truly amazing to the scrap yard off coarse
I've had great luck with just about every make I've owned, But I also have a pretty good idea what models to avoid. That being said I like GM's trucks and RWD cars best. (I'll never own a domestic FWD car). Nissan also has had a stellar record with me as well.
I bought my second and current Ford truck mainly because I was looking for a I6 powered truck and the ford was priced right and sported EFI. Something you don't get with a Dodge slant 6
My uncle in Serbia had Ford Sierra and it was pretty cool car. My parents never had Ford in Serbia (they had Polski Fiat, 2 Yugo Scala 101 and VW Golf).
Then we bought Ford Escort when we moved to the USA and since then I like Fords.
my family is all GM. I really wasn't brand loyal 5 years ago when I got my Superduty V10. I have been really happy with it, so far no problems despite the hard off-roading. I like to truck so much that it had inspired me to buy a 1968 Cougar with 302 ci. I love that car so much becuase their aint much of them on the road.
I had an s10, the bed was knocked off of it in a rear end crash. Front bumper and grill was lost to a tree, both fenders messed up due to cars hitting me as well as the doors. I abused that truck to no end, took me 2 years to kill it, and trust me I tried to kill it.. Mud up to the windshield, no stalling. I would see a hill i wanted to hit, I would jerk it into 4 no matter how fast I was going and hit whatever hill I seen. set of train tracks close to me, I have caught major air off of those many times. I had good luck with that one. The next one, another s10. Had 162,000 when I bought it, added a chip, and drove it till 247,000 when the x-wife took it and killed it....Iv not had bad experience with my s-10's
I had several fords before I was old enough to drive though.....also had bugs. lol...like the project cars....I ended up fixing up a bug. drove it 3 months after 1.5 years of work, woman ran stop sign and took off the whole side of it. after only 3 months of driving it.
I simply like the trucks though. My 65 is the first full sized ford Iv had. she is a good truck. now after the s10 escipade, I started driving fords almost exclusively. I found that no matter the problem, they still got me home. Head gasket blew out in 3 of em, water running out the back, still got me home. My merc sable, I use it more like a truck than I do the truck. my 76 cobra I used to carry chains in it to pull people out of ditches during snow (yes really, want a pic?). I also been known to push them down the road for one reason or another. the sable I have now is also a puller/pusher vehicle, and has some front end damage to prove it. Its a daily driver till I get my front disk package installed on the 65. then will be again during salt times. My truck doesnt have any rust on it, not wanting it to start.
fords are just tough and nice looking. I will always have a ford. My dad is now a converted ford guy. he had chevs all his life till about 5 years ago. hes impressed with them
That pic of that 65 of yours sure takes me back in the day when I had my 66 Camper Special with a 390ci, 4-speed granny low in her. Sure miss that truck! That was a tough son of gun and I loved that motor!
