Does it romp romp when it first starts and is rocking back and forth? Yes it does.
Also, when it warms up how does it run then? The same. You can definatly tell there is a miss. I am kinda scared to let it run very long though. But when I was driving it it was warm and had a real lack of power.
I stopped at a shop and talked to a guy today. He said he is about 90% sure it is the injector pump. He didnt see or hear the truck he said he knew by experiance.
What do you think? I figure if it was the injector pump it would be more then one cylinder?
Ok, GPs and GPR are out if it does not go away, (at least for the running problem). You need that code scanned. HPOPs are very expensive and it may not be that. Could be a sensor, UVC harness connection/short or a host of things.
I kinda know a ford tech who has done a couple of favors for me. I dont like calling him much because he refuses to take any money (even though I kinda try to force it on him) but thats another story. He has access to a scanner and is going to scan the truck for me. He said its probably an injector but he's going to scan it to make sure.
I will keep you guys informed. Thanks for all theinput.
And yes those damn scanners arent cheap. And niether is th injector pump.

Make sure the guy you talked to isn't talking about a high pressure fuel injection pump. PSDs don't use them.
Ok here is what I have Cylander 3 and 7 Miss fire codes PO269 and PO281 then he ran the buzz test and got a P1277 cylinder 7 and a P1273 cylinder 3. He also got a code PO603 Cam tester KAM. He said when I pull the valve cover I probably wont be suprised to find one of the wires burned to the injectors. Does this sound right? I know he knows what he is doing but even he admits he is not a Diesel mechanic. He is very knowledgable though. Any advice is appreciated.
P0269 Cylinder 3 Contribution/Balance Fault
P0281 Cylinder 7 Contribution/Balance Fault
P1277 High to Low Side Open - Cylinder 7
P1273 High to Low Side Open - Cylinder 3
P0603 Internal Control Module KAM Error
Good news and bad news. He may be correct in that you may have a UVC harness short on the passenger side causing your broblem, (notice how they're both conveniently on that side) and at worst, those injectors need orings or replacement.
Now the KAM is puter related and I'm not sure what to do and how this is related. My new and improved shop manual DVD is in the mail, somewhere.
I'm pretty sure it is the keep alive memory or something.
I'm sure someone will chime in.
Edit: gotta love them scanners. I think I'm gonna ask Santa for an AE with enhanced bundle this year.
Ben is a life savor. I cant thank him enough. Tomorrow I will pull the valve covers and check the wireing to the injectors. He seems to think it is thewireing going to those injectors. I hope he is right.

Yes there is a way to check all your wiring without pulling the valve covers.....Pull the wiring harness from the injector control module and pull an ohms resistance test. This will check all conections from the idm to the injector. Ford manual says to test in three diff spots but this way eliminates many a step. The uvc harnes needs to have the clips in. < 4 ohms should be your value. You will need the color codes to check.
