I am willing to put $$ on it that it was all your tires fault. Thats a lot of meat to spin, for the small 4.6 and stock gears. The only place that the force could be dissipated, was the auto tranny. Also, when you upgraded the gearing finally, did you adjust the computer for the new gearing? If not, the shifting procedure would not be matching the factory rpm levels, and will also cause all sorts of issues. Glad to see that you have everything squared away now, but I do think this is a case of "pay to play".

Oh yeah... The the flashpaq allows the user to input the tire size and rear end gear ratio... it was a tough lesson to learn... the moral of the story is.. if youre goin to go bigger on a 4.6... get the 5.4!!.. ha!.. or if you have to.. do the mods i did
