Having trouble locating new rear drums at something less than robber baron prices for my 65 F250. Local AutoZones and what have you want from $75 to $100 apiece and I doubt I'll find anything still usable at the boneyard.
Slim --- $75 sounds like a bargain for a new part. They ain't making them thangs any more! Did you try Obsolete Ford Parts in Oklahoma City, or Carolina Classics yet.
You might give them a try.

Yeah, $75 times 2 is a hundred and a half but I'm gonna hafta do it.
I'm a liitle spoiled from my other vehicles I guess. A PAIR of Pinto drums are only $50 and I can get drums and rotors for my 1/2 ton GM vans at $50 a copy.
I do remember paying $140 for a single Winnebago drum one time tho, so it must be a size thing.
I did buy new wheel cylinders for it at $17 ea. Someone in the past had put a 1 inch on one side and there was an 1 1/8 on the other. Couldn't hang with that.
Got bonded lining too after some harassing with the parts guy. They prefer rivets on larger shoes but they don't have to buy the drums. I do.
Shop around a little bit. I used to have a "brand "D" truck and while searching for a brake drum for it I had prices ranging from $38.00 all the way up to $145.00 (Pep Boys)
I'm having another small problem too with the E-brake cables. The whole thing was froze up when I got the truck but while I have the back axle out I was able to get the forward parts and ONE of the cables from the backing plates working. The other one is being real stubborn!
It's hanging at the moment and I go out there with WD about every 2 hours trying to get it to drain down there. Anybody have any better tricks? Better penetrating oil maybe?
I have a doner 66 f 250 with excellent brakes if i can get rear drums off i would offer them for a reasonable price since they are no good to me , i just use body parts for my f 100's Email me at Fatzncompany(No Email Addresses In Posts!) if you are interested
