Tranny Question
What trannies would bolt up to a 390. i have a '65 4 door that has a 390 that needs a tranny. i heard that one from a 351 would bolt up but need some more info, im from the diesel forum so i new to the classic trucks. thanks for any help.

Ryan, Neither or the 351s will exchange with the 390. The 390 is a FE family engine 330, 352, 360, 390, 427, 428, plus a couple others. The FEs have a round top bell, and the others have flat top, but with different top bolt widths.
There are two autos FMX & C6, the manuals all have bolt on bells, so that should make that easier.

Which one do you want. I have a 3spd, that you could pick up in Durham NC right off I-85 pretty cheap.
