Leveling Kit Size?

I am going to buy a leveling kit for my 06 f-150 sc; however, i am not sure as in whether I need to compensate/consider for something when trying to determine which size kit to buy. Is it straight through and through math as in if I'm 2-1/2" lower in the front do I just get that size kit or what??? I am just concerned cause I dont want it to end up with the front end looking funky high. Thanks!!! (BTW It is 2wd)

just put the daystar 2 1/2 level kit on my 2006 supercrew today. It still has a small drop in the front but looks great!! I had it on my 2004 also, check out the pics. I will post pics of the new truck soon.

I know what your saying. I want to install the 2.5 on the front and an add a leaf on the back for the towing but want to stay level. I've read and say that the 2 inch looks great. My only problem is when I tow I want more stability in the rear so I'm not looking at the sky.

you can add an airbag leveling kit in the rear for towing.

There have been numerous threads in the forum on this topic. (searching will find you much info) Lots of people use the 'autosprings' leveling kits. I have a 06 f150 supercrew 2wd. I called autosprings and they recommended their 2inch kit to 'level' my truck. They were correct - 2inch did the job. Also, I'm pretty sure that while it is called a 2inch kit, the spacer somehow brings the frontend up abit more than 2 inches. The autosprings guy said 2.5inch kit would create the nose-up look that many try and avoid. Lastly, I understand they now make a 1.5inch kit that you might consider if you are pulling a load.

I have a 2004 supercab and the 2.5" Autospring brings it up to par being leveled. It still has a bit of a nose down so I dont know why you say it will have a nose up look......

I never said 2.5 would give you a nose up look on a 2wd. That is what Autosprings said. He said the 2inch is primarly for 2wd, and the 2.5 is primarly for 4wd.

cost and I really dont need the functionality of the height. I rather just make it look leveled. I realize you get the true suspension travel of 3" with a suspension lift, but that is not for me right now

The only thing that keeps me from buying the spacer lift is the thuoght of copressing the springs more than their made for and less movement therefore a less comfortable ride. I'm saving up for the skyjacker shock and spring replacement which is a "few" bucks more.

The autospring, and some others just bolt to the top of the spring upper plate, which results in a higher truck without changing the spring or compression rate.

The skyjacker lift is much stiffer in the front, which results in a lot more bump steer. The skyjacker will net you 3" exactly with a 1.5 - 2 inch rear lift (add-a-leaf). The 2.5" autospring will get you anywhere between 2.5 - 3.25". The skyjacker coilover is smaller in diameter, so you don't have to worry about the upper control arm hitting. Autospring recently redesigned the kit to an offset design with is suppose to eliminate any contact. I've done both. If I could go back and do it right the first time, I would get the autospring 2.5" with a skyjacker add-a-leaf for the back. I have this set up now and love it. Too bad I spent the all the money for a pile of metal laying on my garage floor. I had 2 skyjacker shocks leak all the fluid out in the last 2-3 months. Got sick of that and the rough ride.

Anyone worried about installing these things with a warranty. If something goes wrong with the front suspension will Ford throw their hands up in the air and say it was because if the spacer. I would like to put one on my Supercrew, I just hate doing things like that that could come back and bite you in the future...but then again I don't hear very many problems with the front suspension on these trucks (other then vibrations)

The top of it will be off-set from the bottom. What it is doing is pulling the top of the spring inward toward the truck and away from the UCA. You should be able to tell.

well mine has been in for months now. That is the only reason why I am asking. I can't really tell by just lookign at it. All i can see is that there is an open space in the spacer along with welded on slanted fins. I dont see any rubbing with my 33" tires on my UCA....
