Lightning motor swap

hi guys, im new to the forum and whant to say is awesome, i have a few questions: i have a 99 expedition 2wd and its time for a new engine, i have access to a complete 99 lightning engine and a 02 harley engine, is there any specific year i need or any 99-04 lightning will work, both engines come complete with accesories, wiring harness, computer, is there anything else i ll need? thanks for any help

Hey you might try asking the question in this https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum48/ forum. That is the 5.4 4.6 forum, maybe you will have better luck there.

I'd go with the 02 HD over the 99 L engine. Ford had a problem with plugs spitting out of the 99 L's.

The problem is with the heads on the 99-02 5.4, but the L's and HD's seem to experience it more because of the blower application...boost. The heads on the 99-02 only have 4 threads and Ford installed 8 thread heads on the 03-04 models.

so besides the heads everything else is the same from 99-04? and the problem with the spark plugs, is it mostly modified motors or stock motors also? thanks
