Polarity on an E40D VSS?

Polarity on an E40D VSS?
Alright, so I've got the Vehicle Speed Sensor that goes into the tailshaft of my E40D. I need to hook it up to the trans computer (aftermarket unit), but . . . well, which side is positive, which negitive? The wiring diagram for the computer indicates "VSS+" and "VSS-". Which pin is which? There's only two.

I know on mine it's an AC signal but the VSS is in the rear differential on my 94 because it's also the rear wheel ABS sensor. I'm not sure with your setup, I've never seen a VSS in the tailshaft on an E4OD.
