Man this is a great question. My non-PI'd F150 is almost paid off and was thinking about selling it because of the plug problem but PIing it would solve it. So has anyone done this?
i have heard people doing this on 96-98 mustangs with pi heads cams and intake i was wondering how the mustang intake would work on an f150? how would the trottle body and air intake tube work?
PI heads will not solve the plug problem only 03 heads have the added threads.Even then there has been a few 03s with blowouts and it's still early in the game. For an extra 11hp it's not worth it .Don't forget a ported npi head will out flow a factory pi head.PI heads were more of a selling point than anything.

What does that mean? What is PI? Sorry, newbie here.
PI - Performance Improved
Ford redeisnged the heads and intake for a performance gain. When added to a non PI block, the heads raise compression - something like 9.5:1. This may require an ECU tweek to keep the risk of detonation. I've never seen the numbers on a straight up non-PI to PI swap... with the additional compression and ECU tweek it's probably more than 11hp gain, but not enough of a gain to warrant the time and effort without more done to the engine simultaneously.
