Growing up on the farm we had a sheperd-huskey cross (Rudy) that was also a female. She was the very best dog we ever had, very smart and well manered. She had a littler once and I kept one of the pups, called the pup Shelby. She ran off on day with her mother and never came back. My parents still have Rudy, she is 14 years old now and not in very good health. I think they plan on putting her down before winter. They moved into town after selling the farm a year and a half ago, and I don't think the dog likes being locked up in a fence, after being a farm dog.
I just aquired a pup here on August 20th. Someone abandon her along the highway north of North Battleford. It was right at the turnoff to go to Turtleford. About to make the turn and saw her howling in the ditch. Wife got out of the truck and she came to the wife. Checked at a few farms and acreages there and no one seen that dog before. She was about 8 weeks old. Had a good batch of fleas. Through the rest of the drive to Turtleford and back home she was picking them off her and throwing them out the window. First thing a dog bath then flea powdered her. Called her Rosie. Almost a month now and is she smart. She is almost house broke, she lets us know when she has to go out. We did not have to put much training into her. She even learned what she can chew and not real fast also. She also gets along with our other dog Sadie well. Never saw Sadie play before. She treats her just like she is one of ner own pups. Vet figured her to be 8 to 10 weeks old.
As far as we can tell she is going to be a big girl, and has bonded with the wife. She seems to be a Pyrennes x with Collie. She has lots of loving.
Just my old dog Foster is acting grouchy to her. She took all his play toys away from him. So he is a bit crotchity. He puts up with her thou. Man now 3 dogs 2 cats and a yard of old Fords.
How about the name Lightening like the truck ford had for a bit there.
I agree Utah is a sweetheart, very smart too actually!
I have always wanted a chihuahua, it sounds typical now for a girl to want one considering stupid Paris Hilton and what's her face have one. I wanted one though before the Taco Bell commercial's came out. I feel in love at first sight.
Chihuahua's to me are rats with a nervous condition. Most of those things are grouchy. It is hard to find one with good temperments. I know a person with two. One is snapping and biting all the time. The other is calm and relaxed, it came from an abusive home. Go figure the one from abusive home is so sweet and the one that is not has a temper.
