I only bought the lager intercooler to battle EGT's while towing in the hills & up the bigger grades. I would have throttle left over but I would have to back off because of the EGT's. Like others have said, these is where the bigger benefit is noticed. I see a 50-100* loss unloaded and it is supposed to drop about 200* while towing - I'll find out this weekend if I can get my 5'er out of the mud!

You can put the 6.0 cooler on for about 1/2 the $. It's not as big as the Spearco or DI but it helps over stock to fight the EGT monster. EGT's definitey don't climb at the same rate anymore. Prior to installing the DIIC my EGT's would climb up to 1300* very quickly using the higher HP settings of Tony's chip. Now I can hold my heavy foot on the pedal alot longer before having to back off. I also noticed that once I let off the pedal the EGT's drop quicker, cooldown time (below 300*) is alot quicker also.

I agree with this statement, however I do not consider my van turbo to be "bigger", just more efficient. I justified the larger CAC for lower EGTs for towing and for WOT situations. The faster turbo spool indicates to me that I'm getting more volume of dense(cooler) air to the engine. That's the whole point of doing what we do to our trucks...making them run faster, better and more efficient. Of coarse, the Rampage Mule Mod Fund has been depleated until next year.

I hear you. The Silver Bullet fund started out just about depleted, and has pretty much tapered off........
