If walmart has gauges they are probably cheap charlies. VDO, Isspro, stewart warner, autometer. Much better.
you can tee the sender hole on top of the engine in the back and hook it there. If you dont leave the stock sender in the engine light will come on.

There are myriads of aftermarket coolers out there in all different sizes. I don't think you can go wrong with adding one because it's best to keep the oil temperature well within its viscosity range, and adding more oil to the system makes for better overall lubrication.

My only concern with adding aftermarket coolers is where to tap into the engine. I wouldn't want to reduce the flow to something like the camshaft if I tapped in a cooler to the same oil galley that feeds it. The internal components need a certain flow rate, and the oil galleys will only flow so much oil. If tapping into that source creates a flow demand that exceeds the galley's flow capacity, that could get ugly real quick.

The same can't be said for oil pressure gauges, though, you can tap them in anywhere because they're all pressure and the flow rate to them (once you bleed them, that is) is 0.

Well, considering that these engines allready have a cooler, you COULD run into problems.
Up here, we see temps in the -20's-30's. If a front mounted cooler see's those temps @ 65 MPH, I'd imagine the oil would never get warm. It needs to be warm to flow properly.

Well, with the 100+ degree weather in the summer it would be great. Winter days like this morning with -35 degrees below zero I'd probably bypass the cooler haha
