Exclamation 460 Hci

hello i have been looking into a topend build on a 460 and i was wondering who makes the best heads? cam? intake? camshaft and timing chain?
i have seen the power pack from edlebrock that gives it 506hp 536ft/lbs can i make more from different manufacturers?

well as far as i can tell edelbrock is the best one to go with but ford performance also makes some stuff for the 460 as well as a couple other companys umm all i can sugest is do a little reserch and find out about stuff such as your cam lobes and your intake and exaust ports on different heads and intakes and headers i have personaly went with msd ignition system hasnt done any wrong for me like that because mixing and matching might be better than just one company but this is the best advice i can give your for now.

Personally I think the edelbrock stuff is the low end of the parts they should stick to making intake manifolds. for street performance type heads, the TFS, street heads are about the best castings I have seen. biggest issue with them is they only come in 74cc chambers so, they are like the DOVE heads and will raise compression, so thats something to take into consideration. Cams well it all depends on what you want, I like comps extreme series cams for a lot of applications as they are dual pattern cams which these motors like, others make them but usually not with as much a split. Intake, well, now edelbrock does a pretty good job on most of them, but no one I have heard has had any complaints about the wieand stealth, it's got a wider power band than any of the edelbrock stuff, decent top end upto 6k good mid range, and no loss of lowend to speak of. Timing chains my personal choice is the FRPP roller chains, others like other types but thats the best IMHO, has 9 keyways for adjusting the cam timing, good gears and a good solid chain, I am running one and have over 800lbs of open spring preasure and on my second season with this chain with no signs of wear or stretch.

are the trick flow heads better than frpp cobra jet heads? also the scj heads are supposed to be better than the cj heads although i have heard you need knotched pistons is this true? and for the cam i want a lumpy cam the truck will be seeing lots of track time although still streetable. i live in saskatchewan so i dont care about emissions would a marine cam be a concideration? and intake i have picked out the edelbrock rpm air gap intake.
