I have a 71 460 in a 70 torino. My question is: Up to what year did ford build 460s and did they ever use serpentine belts?
I want to get away from my v belts and install a serpentine setup. I found an aftermarket company that makes a kit but I dont care to spend 400 bucks to spin belts.

 

Find an 87+ F-250 with a 460. These had the serpentine belts. I'm not sure if they changed the block to mount these, though.

before you make the change, check the waterpump rotation. I could be wrong, but I think that the waterpumps used were reverse from the v-belt pumps.

I have been checking around junk yards noticing several ford serpentine setups run a reverse water pump so i figured there would be a good chance i would have to run one.
