I was looking through my Motor's '79 Truck Repair Manual at crank specs yesterday, in reference to this thread.
There is a difference between the "normal" 330 and the "HD" 330, such that the HD looks aligned with the FT cranks, while the "normal" 330 is aligned with the FE cranks.
The only way to tell is to measure the snout. The spacer behind the damper should be larger for the FT vs. the FE. If you can measure the diameter of the spacer behind the damper, we can determine if it's an FT-style or FE-style.
Which will tell us if you can just throw any 'ole FE in there
Great news! Got the timing cover off of both engines, crank diameter is the same. Easy fix, just need to swap timing covers to get the forword motor mount on. Thanks a million for all the help you guys have given me. I'm sure I'll have more questions later on, but that will be a new thread.
