loose steering help

could be several things or just 1. get under and chk tie rod ends, drag link, pitman arm, anything under, but i have a similar issue in my '91, and after ruling all else out for saftey sake, i know my problem is the steering box going to crap. i've adjusted 1 time and was good for 6 months, but i'm noticing it slopping up again. good hunting.

fairly easy, just a locking nut and a screw in-out adustment(sector shaft adjuster). but i beg you chk the steering components befor going to the box.

I fixed my 89 today
My F-250 had a lot of free play. At only 70K original miles all of the rest of the steering stuff checked out OK so I carefully adjusted the screw in 3/4 turn. It just seemed to be the right amount-I just left a little play in the wheel with the motor off and the wheels pointed straight. It was a huge improvement. That being said, I understand monkeying with it can lead to trouble. Time will tell.
