all right i just want to know some good ideas to increse the preformace of my 2006 ford ranger short bed regular cab manual 4x4 sport, my idea was to first just go short ram with the intake, better exausht, new clutch, retune the ecu. then maybe after its outa of warnty a turbo or super, new tranny, and new paint cuz the white is just a pain so if any of u guys have suggestions as of parts or paint schemes just post um thanx
AEM intake if they have one for your engine, cat back preferably with headers for exhaust and a hi-flow cat. Clutch will be fine, when it goes, then upgrade. For tuning, get a Bama chip from Doug at Bama Tuners. He specifically does Rangers and is king to them basically.
I have a white 4x4 as well, it was my first white truck, it was sorta like looking at a drive in movie screen when the movie isn't playing. I got a bunch of performance decals, now it looks like a desert racer. The company I deal with as performance decals, grafics, and logo's. Check them out at www.decalfx.com
As you have a short bed regular cab 4x4, you must have the 3.0 v-6, not a very impressive engine as far as power, and aftermarket parts are limited. Zach pretty much filled you in there. Being your truck is so new, it may take a little while to get a carb approval number on some items like an intake or something. We have a member here on the board who has an online ford truck store with really good prices. His name is Bob, and he has about everything you'll need to mod your 3.0, even the bama programer, his site is www.jusnesmodified.com
I forgot to metions as I viewed the parts zach sugested, Bob sells an underdrive pulley thay will give you a decent bump at a good price, he has headers, intakes, catbacks, and even electric fans for our trucks, jba plug wires, just a great selection of performance upgrades.
Thanks for the good word wendell!! We have a whole slew of parts for your truck, all laid out so you dont have to go digging to find your parts. Check out the link! and welcome to the site!!
Welcome to FTE. Of all the people on here, i porbably have the most mods. Now i cant answer any questions that involve more than 'what shape should my tire be?'.' but i'll help you however i can. if your serious about the turbo thing, pm me or e-mail me and i tell you a little about mine. I got a 4.0L stroked and bored to a 4.5L and a chip in it. it gets dinod tommorrow, so well see if i took the stock ?180? hp it had up a small bit.
Where did you get your engine bored and stroked to a 4.5? I have looked into this a little bit for the future of my 4.0. I looked into supersix motorsports and they have a whole lotta mods for the 4.0. What do you think of their mods?
I dont know much about mods excpet the stroker kit. it's the bomb though. my cousins are really into racing EVERYTHING, from cars to snowmobiles, so they make alot of thier parts out of my machineshop. so as repayment for letting them use my shop, basically they put on my ideas. i have a good sized lathe, milling machine, welder and various other tools.
infact i had my truck out getting dino'd today. so we'll see what that strokerkit does for it... check out the link, it's called "4.0>4.5"

Are you sure that isn't 200KM ? It may be a European version with the speedometer in KM.
