Anyone running 530 hybrid injectors? Got the motor out of the dually Monday and now its time to order some parts. Im thinking of going the 530 route. I will have the van turbo, regulated fuel system, head suds and custom programming. I plan on running the van turbo for awile and the stock HPOP will be in there for a few months too. What setup is anyone running with the 530s? What other injectors are you guys running?
i know Kevin Barr (mech2161) has them. he had the van turbo and no other fueling sources (nitrous, pane or methanol)
he got lot's of smoke with them. 39psi of boost at 39psi of drive pressure, very efficient.
he has since upgraded to a hybrid Hypermax K31 turbo and has put his truck over the limit of stock parts. he is breaking stock stuff left and right it seems. he barely has any smoke now with all this air.
when i pull my engine, i plan on doing 530's. as of now i plan to keep the van turbo i have now, plus an ATS. i will finish off the smoke with nitrous if need be. i can satisfy my smoke craving with these then. who knows, a H2E might be in my future.
If you're going to be upgrading to a dual HPOP, why not go with true 530's? Hybrids are designed more to be used with a stock HPOP, as they require less oil to run them. But, since you're already going to be doing the supporting mods (dual HPOP, studs, custom programming) to run true 530 single shots, I'd just get them in the first place. I think that BD code 530 singles with some Ex Honed nozzles would be cheaper than hybrids too.
If I do upgrade the HPOP it wont be for a while. Injectors are one of the things I want to replace now along with studs and getting the heads remanned.
Yes egt's were high. With that much fuel you need a lot of air. A bolt in turbo including the BB will have high egt's. You would need an H2E or larger if your concerned about temps.

I run hybrids with a stock hpop in my truck and it works great awesome power etc, etc.
That said, IF and I say IF I knew that I was in fact going to go with a dual hpop and injectors, but not at the same time, I would go with the dual hpop first and then get the 530's later. The reason being, is you will notice a nice difference in your powerband with the hpop and stock injectors.
Also if I were to be going that route, I would put stock 530 injectors in with stock 6 hole nozzles.
530's come with 6 hole's. There should be some 530 hybrids coming out for big oil.
These statements come from another site.
"11.79@118 #2 only on Hybrids"
"Ya, there not your average MM's,but they make as much as full on B codes so far."
"You need dual HPOP's to run these hybrids."

Were they high enough to not go this route without a big turbo upgrade.
Ok so bringing back an older post. Would someone be better off staying with stage 2 single shots with the van turbo instead of going hybrids and runing them for some time before a bigger turbo? Or How much can a set of hybrids be tuned down by Jody for everyday driving to help lower EGT's? That way i could do the sticks (since mine are probably in need of a rebuild and then upgrade the turbo later) And until then i would be able to play with added power over factory injectors but still be a little more safe.
