I personally like to change all cooling system hoses around 80,000 miles and I drive about 15K per year. I also change the heater hoses. These are all cheap items that I install myself; I regard them as an investment in reliability. Have a lookie on your engine for "mystery" cooling lines; I found one on my 04 Ranger 4.0 that heats the vac hose leading to the PCV valve.
*The serp belt is another inexpensive investment in reliability; I also replace them at about 80K and save the old one for emergency use.
