Looking to upgrade rear end

2004 F-150 Heritage 4.2L V6. I just installed the fabtech 3.5 inch spindle lift with 285/75R16 Terra Grappler Tires. (pics coming soon). I was looking to upgrade my rear end. I have the 3.31 now and was wondering if I should go up to a 3.73 or a 4.10? I do some highway driving and was thinking that a 3.73 would be best. What do you guys think?

Also I was thinking about adding an LSD and was wondering if that would fit in my stock pumpkin or if I need to up grade the whole pumpkin to a larger one?

Thanks for your help

4.10's will fit in the 8.8, i had 4.10's in my 2wd but were to low with the stock tires, by the way my truck is manual

Hmmm...
Not sure.

Unless I did real serious off-roading or needed the best lowend grunt I could get, I'd go with the 3.73 rear end.

The reason I am looking into the 4.10 is because I upgraded to 285/75R16 tires. I used the automotive calculators on this site and to get my original ratio back (3.31) I would need a 3.70 rear end. I thought about going with the 3.73 bc it is roughly the same but figured I could use a little more low end than I had stock so thats why I went up to the 4.10 Do you know if the LSD unit will fit in the stock rear end housing?

Any opinions welcome on either the 3.73 or 4.10

Well, its 2 months after the last post but my opinion would be go for the 4.10

the 3.31 ratio seems a little too tall for the v6 f150. i used to have the 3.55 on stockish 30 inch tires and the truck did NOT like uphill on the freeway

Thanks for the reply, I actually haven't changed the rear yet so any opinions are still welcome. The money issue is slowing me down with the swap, college definitely puts a drain on the bank account.
