I've found a really nice 2004 FX4 super crew (leather, AT, lift kit, big tires, center console shift) with 46k on it. The dealership wants $23k but i think i can get them down. That seems like a decent price, even though the tires will need replacement soon and it'll need a spray in bed liner.
the problem is I'd need to sell my Jeep Wrangler (wife says i don't need 5 vehicles plus a motorcycle). What do you guys think? I miss a full sized truck but love my heep.
I would say that you can talk the dealer way down from that price. Ford was offering 0% financing on 2006 models so the used market will be heavy. Good luck

My wife is the same way with fishing rods, guns and golf equipment. They must be trained as girls to object to male collecting habits, which as anyone knows is genetic.
Just remember that they allowed the previous owner nothing for the lift kit or the big tires so don't let them tell you they make the truck worth anything extra.
they showed me one of the price lists and other comporable trucks on the lot were more expensive. unless they showed me a doctored list where everything but that one truck was high it's a good price.
any i just found out my wife is buying me a gun safe for Christmas, she says i have to buy the truck to get the safe home
I think you could do almost as good on a new truck right now 2 weeks ago I purchased an 06 F-150 s-cab FX4 with leather for 27900 after discounts and rebates...
Don't let them say that they paid alot for the aftermarket parts. Dealerships don't care about it if you are trading in. They probably gave the guy 15,000 or 18,000 for the truck depending on the millage, condidtion, and the "factory" accesories.

MudBucket is right. Look hard into new trucks, your liable to run into a good buy. up tell sept 5, ford had 0% financeing on 06's. I would,nt give nomore than $19500 for that truck. But yes i would suggest a Fx4 to replace a jeep or even to go along with a jeep. I'm pretty fond of my Fx4 and my wife is of her's.
Talk them down I just picked up a '04 FX4 screw loaded w/ 31k mi. for $22K + a 6yr./100k B2B warrenty ( 1 week before Ford started the pricing discounts, dohh!!).
My 05 FX4 SCab I bought new last year, I paid $27400. The dealer gave the previous owner of that 2004 FX4 trade-in value, now they want you to pay the retail price. I bet if you go to Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds.com, or look in the latest NADA book, you will see the trade-in value vs. retail value, somewhere in between is a better price you should pay.
