block casting # ?
i just got 2 motors in a trade im trying to find out the year so i can get parts . the casting # are d4de-6015-ba. 6d27 on one and d4de-6015-ba. 4k18. on the other. i know theres a link to block numbers. but i did not see mine there . they where d4de-aa,ect

The first two digits tell you the year. D4 is 1974, D for the decade of the 70s and 4 for the year of that decade. The other number is the date code which is the date the block was actually cast.
From our Casting Numbers Info sticky:
So 6D27 is April 27, 1976 while 4K18 is Oct. 18, 1974. Looks like both blocks are 1974 casting numbers, but one was actually cast in '76. Are you sure those numbers are correct?
