For my usage, (A/C work), the drop in was a pain in the A**, nothing would stay put without strapping down and yes it did rust underneath (didn't rust through, just surface)
New truck has a line-x on it. I haven't managed to dent or chip it (I've been trying) But I have managed to stain it by draging some old rusty condensors across it. I bet it could be cleaned if I tryed though
I just wanted to throw my two cents in on the matter. I have had trucks with drop-in's in them and my current truck has a spray in. I had the liner sprayed into the bed when I purchased the truck brand new from the dealer. I did my research ahead of time. Line-X was my choice. It all depends on your application as to what your decision should be. I love my Line-X liner and my heavy duty bed mat. I don't worry about putting anything in the bed. One thing that I can tell you for surre is; the drop-in liner will ALWAYS damage your bed. Your truck, you choose.
I have the bedrugin my 05 screw and I really like it. I do diy projects around the house and have found it durable for that purpose. The only problem I have with it is something got spilled and it left a big black stain on the floor and tailgate portions. I cannot say that it is stain resistant like they advertise but it really does keep cargo from sliding around and it is easy on the knees if you have to climb in the back.
Not for hauling grain. hay, feed, fertilizer, sand, peagravel, or even grass seed.
grain, hay, seeds tend to get under the liner and start growing. sand and pea gravel get under the liner and really start to strip the paint dopwn to the metal. we know what the fertilizer will do, thats right rust it completly out real fast.
I dont know why its so hard to understand that theres not an option thats going to cover everthing and be superior to all the other types.
I love my Line-X. Had it for a year now with no problems. I had a drop in on my 89 F150 and it scratched the hell out of the bed. Wont ever use one of them again.
TruckDaddy when did linex start spraying silver? How many colors do yall have now?
Some LINE-X dealers offer non-fading exact color matches as I do. We can match ANY color. If the factory paint code is available, we use that. If not available, the paint store we use has a spectrometer. We apply a pigmented bedliner and use automotive paint for the exact color match.
I have the drop in Ford bedliner. For my uses, I am very happy with it. Tight fit and I have no trouble with anything sliding; carry some rope if you are that concerned. But the final choice is yours.........

No trouble with stuff sliding around? You either are straping it in or using gorailla glue.
I had a drop in in my last truck , I put a sheet of OSB plywood in there to stop the sliding a little, might just get a rubber mat to throw down this time.
