I admit i've gotten alittle bored with f150s. I've rode and driven f150s all my life. i've been looking at tradeing for a 250 and would haveduring the 72month 0% interrest but they wanted me to give them my truck and i was'nt going to do that. Well to the subject my wife went to tuscalosa today to watch the ala and vandy game. its a couple hrs from our house. at times we where doing 95{ this is real rare for me. This 4x4 truck handle beautifully. There was other name brands out there on the road with us they did'nt run off and leave us. matter of fact the truck moved pretty dang good. i gased up last night with the low fuel light on with 24.3 gals and tonight i gased back up 418.7 miles later. My calculater says thats 17.2 mpg. Not bad for a fx4 doing 70-95 mph. I loved how this truck would take the throttle, come out of curves, let off when needed, climb hills. The seats feel good dont make me tired the controls are right in reach.Anybody thats driven thru ala knows ours highways are not straight and their pretty hilly. makes for some fun. Tonight after putting the kids down for bed my wife cuddled up to me and told me she saw me giddy while driving today. She said she was a little jealious. What can i say she gots good reason lol.
I must say that when driving about town and especially on the highway, I find my '06 F-150 to be a source of joyfulness. It handles great and has plenty of zing (5.4).
That's the kinda story that just puts a smile on your face after reading it I love my 06 as well. sometimes get a little shake in the front end, but I still love the truck
Great story. My wife and I dated in my 67 F100 and fortunately for me, she loves the trucks also so we will always have a truck. She enjoys driving our 06 STX as much as I do.

My wife and I dated in my 65 F100 too. Still have it but it needs some attention again. I redid it completely back in early 80's when we were dating and it was my daily driver for a while. Even after I bought a car for my daily we still did most of our local driving in "Ol' Blue". The truck belonged to my Grandfather until he put it out by the barn. It sat there for several years then I brought her home, Rebuilt Engine, Painted it in and out. Dressed her up and drove it.
You know I really need to do all that again and give her back her Glory. Its been sitting in the back yard now too long.
1 bad thing though, the center console gets in the way on the times when the wife wants to sit next to me. we still have my 85 f150 but its not as fun as the 05, hehehehe
