97 Explorer Door Lock Problem
My unlock from the drivers door doesn't work, the lock function does work. All other locks/unlocks work fine. I've read of similar problems on this board and the problem seems to be a break in the pink/light green wire either in the door bend boot or under the back seat. I'm pretty sure it's in the door bend, but I can't figure out how to get access to those wires. There is a pod that looks like the top comes off, but I can't get the top off. Does anyone know how to gain access to these wires? Thanks.....Dan

Open the door and you will see an accordian boot halfway down, that is the wire bundle where your problem lays. Pull down the boot and fix the broken wire, add a small piece to reduce the strain. If you need to break the connection there is a bolt from top to bottom in the connector.

Note,
The "top" does come off, unscrewing the bolt in the center disconnects it. It does not allow any access to the wires though, just unplugs for removal of the door by disconnecting the harness at that point.
