black marks when turning

Hey my 78 bronco leaves black marks when I turn sharp and it is starting to wear on my tires pretty good. Do any of you have the same problem? Is it just the short wheel base causeing this?

Are your hubs locked? Does your 78 have the rather rare full-time 4WD option? Either can cause bind in the front axle when executing tight turns.

Your alignment might be out a bit too, and then you are draggin' one tire around the bend.

I have locking hubs and I can spin the front drive line when there not locked so I dont think they are sticking locked. It does it both ways I turn. I use to drive a 85 K5 blazer for work and it did the same thing when I turned sharp. So i thought it was common on these broncos but maybe it is aligment. I will have it checked when I put new tires on next month. Thanks for the info
