Today on the way home my pedal got stiff. I did change the rear brakes & wheel cylinders. Is it possible for air to cause some thing like this? I didn't the best bleeding job. I am going to do it again tomorrow. I had the pedal go to the floor once, but in never did it again so I figured the air worked it's way out. Thanks for any ideas.
What is the best way to remove & reset the pulley on the pump?
I noticed a little ssss sound today when I steped on the brakes. So I am thinking mabey the booster is bad. I never noticed it befor, but I usually have the radio on so I may have not noticed it.
The only other thing is when I removed the main vacuum line I hear a chirping sound coming from the line. I can only hear through the vacuum line. Should I be hearing any thing like that?
The chirping could be the pump pumping.
You need to find out how much vacuum you have, should be about 20 in/hg.
Then when you push the brakes how far down does it drop, and how long does it take to recover.
A power steering pully puller will get it off and reinstall it on the new pump, but some of them will not go in the concave pulley far enough to engage the grove in the pulley hub. I bought one and modified it with a grinder so it would fit.
