Any rumors about Mark Martin
A couple of mornings ago as I was waking up I thought that I heard that Mark was going to drive the #88 UPS car for Yates Racing. Then at work I also heard that he was going to Toyota. Anybody know his future for next year? I thought he was a die hard loyal Jack Roush driver.

The media is making a big deal about nothing. Last week they acted shocked because he wasn't going to be racing for roush full season next year. Well,no kidding? last year was supposed to be his last year, but they didn't have a driver ready for his car so he did Jack a favor and raced this year. Maybe he can win the championship this year that has eluded him so many years!! He might drive a few races in nextel cup,but he is planning on racing the truck series the full season. Maybe he can put a whoopin on the toyota driving cue ball driver that is winning a lot this year!!

The entire story/rumor is on the Jayski web site. Apparently sources close to Ford Racing indicated he would be driving the #88 next year. Also, it appears that Mark, with the support of Jack Roush, was going to buy RYR this summer before the deal fell through. It is reported that the deal was far enough along that Yates a made a complete inventory list to show the worth of his operation.
Latest update is that Martin's business manager saw these rumors and denied them all.
Yates is supposed to be making a announcement soon. We'll see.

Mark is listed as the owner for the #17 car. Now as far as if he has any actual ownership, I don't know.
The listed owners for Roush's cars are:
6 - Jack
16 - Jack
17 - Mark Martin
26 - Georgetta Roush
99 - Jack
The UPS sponsorship is going with DJ to Toyota. The rumor/story on Jayski also mentioned sponsors for the 88 next year being McDonalds and Citifinancial. Yates currently has sponsorship from Citifinancial in the Busch series.
And the latest update on Jayski has Yates interested in Martin, Ricky Rudd and/or Ward Burton. I would think it is imperative that an experienced driver be in the 88 to help Gilliland develop in the 38.
Time will tell.
