What the....????

Does Nascar know what they are doing anymore or are they just making it up as they go? They have ruined the sport! A few weeks ago they called a predetermined caution because there was some rain before the race and the cars were sliding all over the track.Isn't the whole point for the drivers and crews to work through stuff like that, with the winner being the team who could work with their car the best?

Before that there was the Robby Gordon fiasco in Montreal. Then this week there was shades of that all over again. Biffle ran out of gas and couldn't maintain pace car speed and they called him the race winner! Nascar has become the WWE of motorsports, they make up the rules as they go and it feels like they decide the outcome well in advance of the race.

I'm done with nascar I've got better things I can do with my Sunday afternoons than watch some cars go in circles for hours, just to have officials call a random 'debris' caution and then have a commmercial every 3 minutes. I haven't watched a full race in about a year, and I spend most of the time flipping between the race and something else (football now).

And what the hey is up with the car of tomorrow? I mean geeze, same car different engine? Oh, I forgot the hood logo tells you what kind of car it is.
It used to be Daytona 500 and Barrett-Jackson meant spring is almost here. Now, to me, Barrett Jackson is the start. When Bill France died NASCAR did too.

Anyone notice a marked increase in the incidence of car-b-ques with the new COT? Some poor driver is going to end up extra crispy.

I agree generally, Nascar is not doing a good job of keeping an image of integrity, but Biffle crossed the finish line under forward motion his car created. He was not pushed across the line. You want to penalize someone, penalize Bowyer and Johnson for passing under the caution flag. Biffle was still moving at a speed that was more than adequate to get him across the line.

No making up of the rules at all. When the caution is displayed, the field is frozen in the position they were running at the time. As Buckarcher says, you cannot pass while the caution is displayed. Biffle crossed the finish line, then pulled into the infield. Griping Chevvy drivers doesn't change that.

I do agree that the "new wave" NASCAR sucks.

No. Not when the track is wet and dangerous. The tires on these cars do not have treads, and it would be like racing on ice. jd

Soooooooooooo, give the teams treaded tires and let them go at it. I know NASCAR whines that treaded tires won't hold up, but if all the teams have the same tires then it's all even. The teams can either slow down or change the tires more often, or do whatever they have to in order to succeed.

I've thought that for awhile now. It's all just for ratings and money.
