Prices leveled out for the last few months between $2.70 - $2.88. For the past week most filling station are around $2.50 and one shameless Exxon station is still at $2.79.
Screw you hippies! It *dropped* from $3.19 to $3.09 in Spokane. Today I saw one station at $3.05. Monday I was thrilled to fill up my tank at $2.99 a gallon and couldn't figure out why they were out of diesel and premium. The next day they had the station closed and were tearing up the blacktop to replace tanks apparently so I got a clearance price. That's the first time I've seen under $3 a gallon here in quite a while.
One other thing the 'experts' said is that the price drop is due to inventory surplus. Does that mean people are using less gas because of the high prices? That's the only reason I could see there being an inventory surplus.
Hmmm, gas prices are down, and elections are coming up in a few months. Jee, maybe there is a connection because the price of oil hasnt come down all that much. Just my perspective/opinion of it. I'll enjoy the lower prices all the same, but look for them to go back up after the first week of November.
What about diesel prices guys. Did anybody read my post.
A couple weeks back, diesel up here was averaging about $3.48/gal., with the worst being $3.58/gal. at some places. Currently, the average has only dropped about $0.10/gal.
I've gotten gas in Batavia, OH for 2.29 on Wednesday. In northern KY, it's about 2.45. Diesel in Batavia is around 3.00. In NKY, it's around 2.89. I'm glad I didn't trade the F150 in for a diesel now.
furball, they found a new oil field....................somewhere that I can't think of right now, I think that caused the prices to go down (well the thought that we will get oil from it anyways).
I'm not expecting oil up in November, how many times does it have to be explained the prices won't change just because Dubya says they will. Last time I checked anyways, he didn't own the ever gouging Exxon.

Gulf of Mexico; lots of speculation as to how large it really is and as it is under more than 5 miles of water, it will take several years and $billions to get noteworthy production from it.
They say Jack 2 will be producing by 2010. But it doesn't matter. Just like they raise prices on supply worries, they can lower them on supply expectations.
I'd love to see even $2.40 a gallon here. We're still holding at $2.96 and we have 3 refineries here. It's not like they have to truck the crap in from 100 miles away. It peaked at $3.25 with Diesel at $3.45 a gallon.
