Back again

Well, I did some surfing yesterday, but this is only my second chance to post since we moved last weekend.

Anyway, the move went well.

Then the wife got the idea that we need a whole bunch of new stuff to go with our new house. And I'm just watching the balance shrink in our savings account. Currently on order, a dining room hutch, love seat and two matching chairs, all custom made. Made locally to boot. No offshore stuff here. Well, maybe not.

Our new microwave, coffee maker, and LAP TOP are probably made in Japan.

Yes, that's right. Lap top. Bit the bullet. Gone wireless. Sweet.

Garage still needs more organization, but at least all the stuff that didn't belong there isn't there any more. Got a semi bench in it with a couple drawers, and some pegboard on the back. An Ikea shelf holding the radio and tire chains, car wash stuff, and miscellaneous cans of brake cleaner, tire shine, antifreeze, bug juice, etc. And attached to that is a bag that holds empty beer cans.

Still need a beer fridge.

And a bigger deep freeze.

Now, on to some complaints.

We finally got the Hunter Douglas venetian blinds today, after putting up with no privacy, and a broiling hot kitchen and family room as they get afternoon exposure.
The laundry room door wouldn't close with the dryer in the way, so we had to trade them in on a stacker unit, and now my wife hates that. Petty, I know, but whatever. And just 2 seconds after I signed the release form saying I received the stacker unit in satisfactory condition, I noticed a dent.
Water pressure is really low. I still have to attend to that.
We've been on the contractor for 2 weeks now about our garburator not working, due to a missing electrical cord. Actually, when we did the walk through, the garburator was missing. They installed it, plumbing is good, just no power.
The city didn't pick up our garbage today. Don't know why, because when I brought it out this morning, our neighbour was bringing hers out. And they picked up last week.
Got a no parking sign for a neighbour across the street. He was parking in front of our house, not leaving any room for anyone behind or in front of him. He finally saw the sign 2 days later and moved his van.

Remember how I was looking into a reel mower? Yeah. Big mistake. Gonna go and get a gas rear bagger tomorrow.

All in all though, I'm happy with our new house. Wife loves it too, just the contractors are a bit slow to follow up on the deficiency list.

Lots of work to do in my garage though. Need a compressor, welder, grinder, vise, the aforementioned beer fridge etc.

Good to be back though.

Get that guest room fixed up.

I'll bring you the beer fridge (N/C) next time I'm out there

Could be 2 weeks or next spring

I always visit cloverdale when I'm there.

I assume you will be at the Langley car show this or next coming weekend ?

Congrats on the new digs!

I'm convinced the best way to move is to have a monster garage sale, sell it down to the walls..... and then buy it all over again when you get ready to move in. Save a fortune in moving expenses.

That works even better when you bought all that stuff at somebody else's garage sale, and can get more than you paid for it. Extra bonus if you can hit up a garage sale when you get there, and get all the same stuff again for cheap.
