patch panels?

patch panels?
i have read alot of the threads and cannot find any info on this so here i go my 64 f100 custom cab has both front fenders dented and the lower passenger side to back of cab corner is rusted should i put a new fender or patch panel on it? i have no experience in metal massaging but plan on doing the work myself is this advisable.
