2001 Explorer Sport Trak RAP module?
ref 4 door sport trak with the small load bed
Where is the RKE/RAP module?
I look in the shop manual CD and they say it is behind the "back trim panel" but when I look at the body section of the book they don't mention the back trim panel. Is this in the back seat or the load bed?
I looked in there where the jack is, pulled the grey fuzzy cardboard doodad back and no joy. I don't want to tear the truck up. I just need to see the sticker for the door code. Thanks

They call it RAP. (Remote Anti-theft Personality) The door entry controller. I have seen a couple references here on the forum and they say it is on the driver's side near the jack but my jack is on the passenger side. I looked around as much as I could through the 2 doors in the back panel behind the rear seats but no joy so far.

What is the production date of your truck?
Before 7/24/00, the RKE function was controlled by the RAP module. After 7/24/00, it is controlld by the CSM (Central Security Module)
The CSM (Late prod) is located behind the dash, above the glovebox.
The RAP module (Early prod) appears to be in the rear "liftgate??". Since i've never looked closely at a S/T, I'm just using a term from my old 93 Exploder. The RAP is located near the rear window motor...

The system (permanent) entry code is located on the owner's wallet card in the glove compartment; it is also electronically accessible by reading the KEYCODE PID using a diagnostic tool, and on the module housing.

This is a 2001 (bought used) and I don't have the wallet card.
This is the sport trac, a 4 door pickup truck. I can't believe they would put the security module outside the vehicle. My shop manual still calls it the RAP.
