2008 SD keyless entry code, RAP, computer module

I have looked at many of the other treads and I can not find the answer. How do I locate the keyless entry code sticker in my 2008 F350? I just bought the truck used, I do not have the card that is delivered with the truck and I don't want to pay the Stealership to hook it up to there computer. I am looking for the RAP or the computer module as it is called in the owner's guide.

It is not behind the glove box, there is no longer a fuse access panel under the dash like the earlier SD's, the drink holder under the upfitter switches does not "pop out." Before I start with any tools, I am looking for input.

If I understand correctly Ford quit putting the code on the lock module around the '08 year model. You have to have the ECM read by the dealer. A dozen donuts and pleasant manner at the beginning of the work day may get you the info you need without a bill.

That's what ford said about the 2005-2007's as well, and the codes are still there buried under the dash, not to mention that even the last update of the user guide says that the code is on the "Computer Module." I am hoping someone has some experience with the 2008 code search. Thanks for the reply, I kinda hope your wrong because I want to save the time and effort of a trip to the dealership.

I have a Job 1 08 F-250 SD. Same situation, could not find the code. Took it to the dealer, the service manager is a neighbor, he said its right here, when he looked, no code. He also looked behind the glovebox and around the fuse panel. He then pulled out some other manuals and it showed exactly where it was suppose to be. Nothing. So he hooked the scanner up and had the code in 30 seconds. It cost me though, a whole pound of coffee for the Shop coffee maker.... but what I have seen normally, a half hour shop time.

Well at least you got the code! Lucky for me, I found mine written on the driver's side rear door with a paint marker. The former owner must of wrote it down as a safety. Great idea. To all that have the code for your truck, think of putting it somewhere where you or a future owner can find it. Next problem is that I found the lug wrench and extentions are missing. I am going to call the dealer tomorrow, but I maybe looking for a used set if anyone has some.

Where on the '06 then?

I just got an '06 King Ranch with a code too. Where is the Module? sounds like mine should have it on it.

Photo of key code sticker on back of module 2008 F250

Here's a picture of the sticker on the back of the module. This photo was taken from the passenger seat looking towards the front of the vehicle.
http://www.idezignmedia.com/IMG_20120619_203738.jpg

You have to take the kick panel off at the passenger side of the vehicle. Then you have to take two screws out of the plastic module towards the back of the vehicle. Then you can pry the module away enough to read the white sticker.

The Key code is on the sticker that's upside down towards the back of the vehicle (the one with the upside down "C" on it. If you are looking at the sticker right side up it would be at the lower left corner of the sticker. Mine had a five digit code, then a space, then a letter and a number, then another space, then another letter and number. By the way, the five digit code on the card that was in my owners manual was not the right code.

maybe a little off topic but still relevant. i had the "computer module" changed last year when my head lights would not come on in auto mode. i could not make it to the dealership before they closed to pick it up so i asked the tech to lock the keys in the truck and leave in the lot and i would use the door code to gain entry. i get to my truck and put in my code only to find it no longer works. so i have my buddy drive me back home (30 miles away), get my wife's spare set of keys and go back to get it. when i finally get it, i see the new door code card laying face down in the center console.

If the 2008 F250 and F350 XLT Keyless Code

I found the keyless code for my 2008 F250 XLT. It is located on the passenger side. To find it I used the information posted by Lostrider, here's the link: 2008 f 250: crew cab..keyless entry..entry system..The Ford dealer - JustAnswer

The keyless code is located on the back side of SJB (Smart Junction Box). Here's the manufactures digram. (Item 6 on the diagram). You'll need to remove two 9/32" bolts (Item 5 on the diagram)

I took pictures of the location.

Remove the passenger cowl side trim panel. It's near the floorboard under the glovebox.

The first bolt is on top, clearly visible, the second bolt is hidden on the bottom near the floorboard. Use your flash light to find it.

Once the two bolts are removed I had to disconnect part of the wire harness to give me room to flip the SJB over to see the back of the SJB.

Once you get the SJB flipped over you'll see this white label.

The code is the five digit sequence of number at the bottom left corner is small print.

Let me know if this post was helpful. *Thank yo LostRider, wherever you are*

I guess I got lucky. I had the card in the owners book with the code
and the diesel supplement guide.
The older Explores were easy compared to this. Same box just
easy to reach and read with a mirror.
