Hi guys,
i am picking up where I left off about 6 years ago in shaping up my '66. It has been good to me over the years, as it was my first vehicle. I just found this website and am very excited about all the info here. At the moment, I have a couple of questions to throw out there.
1) Does anyone know of a place where I can purchase the screws for the window regulator and door handle assemblies? I've looked on several websites and cannot seem to find just the screws. I remember them having a flat surface that fit flush with the outside of the door, however I do not remember the length or anything. Can I improvise with some at a local hardware shop? If so, what should I look for?
2) I looked on roddoors.com at the speaker pods that they sell. Has anyone out there ever used them over you 60's pickup? If so, I would be interested to hear about the installation and how they look.
Thanks in advance,
erik

We have junkyards around, but there are never many trucks out there. I pretty much need all the screws for all the assemblies. I believe there are 3 each for the window regulators and 2 each for the door latches.

The machine type bolts you need for your window regulators have a head like a wood screw. They are approx 1/2 inch long, there is some room in your door if you go a little longer. Find any old bolt that has matching threads and get your hardware store to match up some with the wood screw type head. The bolts that hold on the door latches, visible when you open your door, have rounded heads. All the bolts that are visible on the latch end when you open your door, except for the strike plate ones on the main cab itself, should have the rounded head to be correct.. Latch bolts are different size from the other 3 in this area.
