Fred, If you have a 1/2 ton you will have a 9" rear, that will be easy to change, and you could go to a 3.25 thak will come from a V8 with st dr. You can run it on to 65 ok, it just sounds bad.

Fred,
I have a 61 F-100 with a 223cid and a 4spd. I put 3.25's in and it runs about 3000 rpms at 65mph. It does sound alot better than it did before, but I decided to scrap the 223/4spd and I went and bought a 302 and an automatic tranny. which I hope to have swaped out by spring.
