Oil Pan Patch

The oil pan on an E-250 Id like to buy has a rot hole the size of a half dollar....They say you have to lift the engine just to replace the pan so....Im lokking for a sure fire way to patch It.....Thanks

replace the pan ! you don't want the rust flakes floating around inside the engine!
Its not that hard to change the pan.

I agree....but where the van Is stuck It will be hard enough to patch never mind replace....When I get It out and up I,ll be able to replace It...

Patch for the Pan

What I have done in the past was to make sure the pan has all the oil residue removed by useing carb cleaner or something comprable then mix up some JB Weld only enough to fix area and apply to the pan. Usually I will use the non quick set formula which sets up in about 20 minutes. Did this to a 97 E-250 and it has held to this day! Hope this helps, it's a great quick fix.
